Register 4.17.10 Release Notes
Smart Volution are releasing an update with exciting new functionality to the Register application. Please read the below information for details on the new functionality.
Multiple Order Receipts
Register can now support multiple order receipt printers, allowing merchants to send order receipts to specific printer locations, based on the products being sold. For example, a restaurant can now configure products into different Print groups and send the order to printers at different stations in the kitchen: Salad Bar, Grill, Main Course or Drinks.
Products can be assigned to certain Print Groups, then linked to specific printers. This is all managed through the Register Portal.
Multiple Printers are available to merchant devices using a Plus license. The feature is enabled from the profile area by setting the printer type to ‘Advanced Printing’, the configuring individual printers and print groups.
Merchant Devices using a Core license now have the ability to add 1 Order Receipt Printer in addition to their customer receipt printer.
Numbered Order References (automatic)
Merchants are now able to create order receipts that use an incrementing number, as opposed to entering in a text reference or selecting from a list. The digit number is generated based on the till number followed by 2 incrementing values. This option can be enabled from the Profile area of the Register Portal, using the Transaction Name option.
This feature would be good for quick service merchants who typically take payment, then prepare the order for the customer to collect. On completion of the transaction both the order receipt and customer receipt will automatically show ‘Order Number: 0123’, allowing the merchant to identify the customer when the order is ready.
