When choosing hardware, there are several key choices to make. This section provides a high-level overview of the options available. The decision you make will be based around your specific requirements as a merchant in terms of functionality, the desired look and the physical set up in store. Key Components
Android computer: The computer that runs the Register EPOS software, it can be integrated or a separate computer/tablet.
Printer: A printer for the customer receipt and or the card payment receipts. For hospitality, you may also require a kitchen printer.
POS Hardware: Point of Sale hardware, this relates to how all the components are housed. For example, is the tablet computer on a separate stand or is it part of a POS platform with integrated printer or is everything totally mobile.
Barcode scanner: A device that reads barcodes for quick entry into the POS system.
Card Payment Device: A card reader that executes a card payment, for example, credit or debit.
Cash Drawer: The physical tray that pops open to store cash and card receipts.
Connectivity: How all the hardware devices are connected and communicate.
Network: How the devices connect to the wired or wireless network.
